Kerrington Harvey, Custie's Co-Founder and CEO, understands deeply the transformative power of pets and the profound bond they create with their human companions. Before founding Custie, Kerrington served in the military, where he endured a life-altering experience, a tragic ship collision off the coast of Singapore that resulted in injuries to himself and others and, devastatingly, claimed the lives of ten fellow sailors. Returning home after this traumatic event, Kerrington found himself struggling to readjust and find purpose in a world that now felt unfamiliar and isolating.
During this challenging period of recovery, Kerrington discovered that his greatest source of comfort and healing came from his pets. They offered unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and compassionate companionship without judgment or hesitation. His pets became an essential support system, never noticing his scars or judging his past, but simply being there for him during his most vulnerable moments. This connection profoundly impacted Kerrington, reaffirming his belief in the emotional strength of the bond between humans and animals.
